The novel Normal People, by Ms. Sally Rooney, brings us the story of Marianne and Connell. They grow up in the same small town in the west of Ireland. But all similarities seem to end there.
In school Marianne is a Loner. While Connell, is popular and well-liked. But when these two, get to talk to each other, which seems awkward and electrifying at the same time, a life-changing event occurs.
Normal People is a story of mutual fascination, friendship and love, between Connell and Marianne. And it takes us from the first chat to the following years. In the company of these two people, Marianne and Connell, who try to stay apart, but find they can’t.
